The Shadow Sequel Poll

Would the sequel be based on the pulps or on an original story?

I think that for a Shadow sequel to succeed, it would have to be based on a pulp story. If the pulp stories had all the ingredients that made a successful story, then those elements should, in the best possible way, be transferred to the screen. Now, if a writer can successfully isolate those elements, and has an original story that can utilize those elements, they should go with an original story. But is that likely to happen with the sometimes committee-like writing of movies these days. Go with a pulp story. It's easier if it's done carefully.

—William Hunt
A sequel... Any potential for such boggles my mind. How would /I/ do it? Back to Asia. Throw in various Tibetan Shang-ri-la encounters. Someone wants to take it over. Time period would be appropriate for a Nazi connection there. The Shadow has always had an occult connection, and the Nazi party has also acquired one if it didn't actually exist...
The Tolku... He could use a successor... A younger version, who's in jeopardy because of his connections to Shang-ri-la.

—Wm. Walter Ingle, Jr.
